From one student to a long-term partnership

  • Individual students

    Internships · field study · research · service-learning

Students come to Rio independently and build an experience around their academic or professional objectives.

  • University cohorts

    Short-term · faculty-led · service-learning groups

Universities organise groups of students to take part in a focused programme in Rio.

  • Student-led cohorts

    2027 Student Ambassador Programme

A student becomes the link between Comunidade Rio Flow and their university, building and organising a group with our support throughout the year.

  • Long-term partnerships

Recurring cohorts · internship pipelines · academic partnerships

An ongoing relationship in which students return regularly and programmes evolve around institutional objectives.

Partnerships can be designed around student numbers, academic requirements, duration, learning objectives and university safeguarding procedures.

Local & community organisations

We work alongside local nonprofit and community organisations, the Vidigal community council and the Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro. Local organisations keep their own identity and leadership; our role is to connect them with useful skills, international perspectives and additional capacity.

If you run a local organisation, school or community project and would like to talk about working together, contact the team directly — there is no need to go through the volunteer application.
